Support for Clients at MtnWebs.com

E-mail PDF

I'm always looking for more effective and efficient ways to respond to my clients.

With clients in different time zones and on various schedules, it's not always easy to connect by phone or to instant message on Skype. Email is great, but I want to show clients an additional way to connect with me if they have a project question, website update request, or need tech support.

As you may already know, I use FreshBooksfor my estimates and invoicing. What is it? FreshBooks is an online invoicing system that is easy to use and I highly recommended it. Believe it or not, I've actually gotten (unprompted) compliments on my estimate and invoicing system. One recently said paying was...fun. Well, let me share the love. Some of the benefits:

  • Save time billing. Serious time.
  • Easy, easy, easy to use
  • Quick set up and you can customize it
  • It integrates with other programs like Mail Chimp e-newsletters
  • But the feature of FreshBooks that I want to discuss today is the Support Ticket.

Existing customers have logged into the system to view estimates and invoices. There is also a "Support" tab that you can click on. There you can start a support ticket that gets sent directly to me. The ticket can be for tech support, questions about new estimates and projects or anything you want. Just bookmark my log-in page: https://stacyvh.freshbooks.com. That way you have quick access to your estimates, invoices and support tickets all in one place. There is also a menu link on my site that will send you to the login page.

You may also want to bookmark my website. I'm constantly updating FAQ's to answer new questions that come up, posting information you may find interesting on my Blog and adding new completed projects to the Portfolio.

    Till next time, Stacy

Keywords Then Website Goals and Target Audiences

    E-mail PDF

    Hello Friends,

I am beginning a 5 part series containing great information for your existing website or things to think about if you are considering building a new site. I will share a brief (I promise) and to the point review of critical information that you can use to get the most out of your online marketing.

    • Goals and Target Audience
    • Initial Marketing: After you have established your website structure, but before you begin working on content.
    • Initial Design and Navigation
    • Back to Basics Web Design and Design Tips
    • Marketing Activities for Launching Your Web Site
    • Publicizing Your New Website Offline

Let me begin with the biggest, most important, above all other web site points:

    Page Content!

(Now go back and read those words again...I'll wait)

There is nothing more important than what you write on the pages of your website. Nothing. Many people ignore this fact. Pages should have between 300 and 700 words of descriptive content that contains the keywords specified for the page. I will discuss keywords in depth later, but the short answer is:

A keyword is the phrase that someone types into Google (or any search engine) when looking for information on a particular topic.

In addition to writing the specified amount of descriptive content, you must include your keywords in the text, in the headlines and wherever else is appropriate (without being annoying to the reader).

Here is a great link for more information on keywords...Squidoo

That's it for now. But before I leave, I want to share the Website of the week...http://sevenmetals.com

    cdcover_body

Seven Metals is a CD featuring 24 Singing Bowls of Tibet. The harmonic sounds are used for massage, yoga, meditation, insomnia and healing. Seven Metals artist, Ben Iobst also owns a lovely shop called Salamander in Saluda, NC. Check out his site. I have a copy of the CD and find it soothing in the chaos of everyday family life. You can follow them on Twitter—look for SevenMetals

See you next time with information on Website Goals and Target Audiences and another client spotlight!

    Ladies Who Launch

    E-mail PDF

Today's Blog is for the Ladies!...but my male clients are encouraged to check out these sites. They are full of practical and creative advice for Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners and anyone who wants to stay ahead of their competition using fresh, relevant ideas.

Ladies Who Launch is a website (and book!) that provides resources and connections for women entrepreneurs. It's kind of like having a virtual mentor there to give you advice. I especially love the articles on featured women entrepreneurs. Ladies who launch provides unparalled advice on finances and marketing for creative women. Check it out: Ladies Who Launch.

joyceAnother great resource for Mompreneurs is Millionaire Moms: a social networking and resource site for entrepreneurial women. Millionaire Moms' founder, Joyce Grimes Bone, is a motivational dynamo and her passion is supporting you in running a successful business and family. Offering guidance, tools & resources to make your hectic life more manageable AND profitable, she is serious about helping foster independence, satisfaction and self-actualization...

And I may be just a little enthusiastic about her talent since I went to high school with her.

How not to be hated on Facebook

    E-mail PDF

Since I've been blogging a little about social networking, following is a great article by Claire Suddath of That Viral Thing on Time Entertainment about Facebook. You will laugh and probably go right to your Facebook profile to delete that quiz about your favorite breakfast cereals...

The article refers to this video by yourtango.com posted on youtube. Enjoy!
