What is WordPress CMS?
WordPress CMS (Content Management System) is the largest, self-hosted, website and blogging tool in the world and is used on hundreds of thousands of sites across the globe. It uses a simple, intuitive interface to help people maintain web sites themselves.
Once the WordPress CMS framework is set up, all you need is a web browser and an internet connection to update your web site. No additional software is needed. If you have ever used Microsoft Word, you will find the WordPress CMS editing interface reassuringly familiar.
WordPress CMS helps businesses take advantage of the best ways to be heard on the web: blogs, email marketing, forums, calendars, e-commerce and more. When you publish fresh content, it addresses your customer's information needs and search engines love it.
I thought WordPress was just for blogs. How is it a CMS?
If you've avoided looking into WordPress CMS as a solution for your own web site needs because you think it's only a blogging platform (and you don't want a blog) it's time to rethink your position. The self-hosted WordPress version is a dynamic Content Management System (CMS) that is flexible and scalable enough to run an entire web site—with or without a blog. A CMS lets you maintain your site with little or no knowledge of HTML code. WordPress CMS is a robust, yet highly intuitive web site solution. MtnWebs in Hendersonville sets up the framework customized to your needs, then you are able to log-in and update your content without ever having to touch the code. This translates into a huge cost savings for small business owners. The site you are viewing right now was designed using WordPress CMS and shows you some of the functions that can be incorporated.
Why use WordPress CMS over other options?
It's fast and easy to use. It's extendable if your business website needs room to expand. You can create job boards, forums, galleries, FAQ's, contact forms—you can build just about anything with WordPress CMS.
What is a WordPress CMS theme?
A theme is a collection of files that work together to produce the functionality and graphical display for a WordPress site. In other words, it makes your site work and look the way it does.
What do I need to use a theme?
You need a domain name; web hosting that includes PHP 5x, MySQL 4.0 or greater and an Apache server; an installed copy of the current version of WordPress and a basic knowledge of WordPress.
How much does it cost?
One thing is certain, not one single project is the same. We offer a starter web package, but we must provide a detailed estimate for all other web, logo and print projects. This estimate is based on what you communicate to us about your project, what you need, how much content your are expecting to have, graphic/logo design, complexity of design of a printed piece, etc.
Are your themes compatible with WordPress plugins and widgets?
All of our themes are developed according to the guidelines published by WordPress.org and should be compatible with most plugins and widgets. However, there are currently over 4,000 plugins available and not all them have been coded to the same standard. So, we cannot guarantee that a badly behaving plugin won't cause a problem. We do not code themes for browsers older than the current release or those still in Beta testing.
Where can I find information and tutorials on WordPress?
WordPress.tv is an incredible resource for all things WordPress. The official WordPress web site is WordPress.org.
What's your phone number? Can I talk to you on the phone?

I want to set up a meeting in person to discuss my project.
I'm happy to schedule a meeting at my home office. Just call or email and we can set up a consultation. We are conveniently located in Hendersonville off Hwy.
