Tutorials and Online Education

I’m here to cheer you on as you create your new website or blog. Following are some folks who can give you loads of information about anything you want to know. Don’t know where to start? Send me a note and I’ll help you on your way!

  • OS Training. I especially like the tutorials by Topher DeRosia.
  • WPSessions. A little more advanced if you want to take your knowledge to a higher level.
  • WordPress Meetups. Meet others in your area who are working on their own WordPress projects.
  • WordCamp. A really fun day (sometimes two) of WordPress classes. Classes range from how to get started to advanced coding-you choose which to attend. I promise you’ll have a great time, meet fun people and learn a ton.
  • WordPress Tavern News. Always the latest in the WordPress world.
  • Specializing Web Design by Sara Dunn. Real life, down-to-Earth information by an expert in the WordPress world. I’ve met her and am always so impressed by her talks.
  • Illustrator Courses by Laura Coyle, Proud to say I’ve known her forever and watched her rise to become a star in the world of Illustration. So talented.

Website Hosting

There are lots of options for your Website hosting. Some good and some not so much. Following are three that I highly recommend and why:

  • SiteGround– Inexpensive Managed WordPress hosting yet offers great speed and other extras. This site is hosted on SiteGround, a decision I made after doing some research of my own.
  • BlueHost-Made for hosting WordPress and recommended by them. Great user interface and easy to use.
  • WP Engine-The gold standard of WordPress hosting. More expensive but many people feel you get what you pay for. Great customer service.
